RIUS RACING 2010 TJSBA KINGS CUP WATERCROSS WORLD GRAND PRIX

At Rius Racing we are proud to announce our victory for a 2ndtime in the Pro Runabout Open at the TJSBA Kings Cup, World Grand Prix. 2009 and now 2010 mark our domination in the pro Runabout category!

With the proud support of our key sponsor WatcharaMarine, Rius was able to make the long journey to Thailand to take part in what is undoubtedly an amazing event. From the opening ceremonies banquet to the awards being given to the winners by the Princess of Thailand , the TJSBA puts together a stellar event.

We arrived into Bangkok a week before the races and made the journey north along side Paul DelRosario, (Current Pro Am Runabout Open World Champion), the super team from Philippines, including Jam Mangio, MykMangio, BjAng, and our favorite driver Kaw. We mostly slept on the way to Phitsanulok Province as the jet lag can be pretty difficult. The next day we were ready to prep the skis for racing. Josh Paddock, Joel Thayer, and the other mechanics Nic and Chris from the Philippines worked so hard in the days before the races to get all the work done. The hard work paid off, for not only Rius , but Paul as well. Rius brought home the Kings Cup and Paul narrowly missed the Pro Am title by a few points but brought home 2nd, great job Paul.

Rius smoked through the 1stand 2ndmotos, taking the holeshotsand riding hard to the finish line. During the 3rdmotoa mishap with the lanyard after a monster holeshotleft Rius finishing in 3rd place. He fought up from the back passing and taking some risks, but managed to push into the 3rdposition thus still holding the top spot in the points. Rius wanted that King’s Cup, it fueled him to yet another holeshotwhere he checked out and brought it home! Team Rius is solid, we work hard and it shows with the podeum’sthat have been achieved this year not only for Nicolas but our customers and friends as well.
