RIUS RACING 2010 WORLD FINALS

2010 quakysense World FinalsRius Racing proudly attended the IJSBA World Finals 2010 events by participating in the Pro Runabout Open and Ski GP classes. The summer of 2010 kept Rius Racing busy preparing our Yamaha Turbo FZ and Hydrospace S4. We tested, we trained, and spent numerous hours on the Crazy Beach track. Our months of preparation lead us to an exciting weekend during finals.

On Friday we excitedly took part in practice and got ready for the qualifier of Ski GP, unfortunately we did not have the quickness in the straight that we would have liked, but Nicolas tore it up on the bouysconsistently dominating the laps with his agility in the technical sections. Although we did not have the results in this class we wanted, Nicolas’ hard work shown through as fought on the track and was able to hold a 5thplace for the final result in this class.

Saturday was a busy day for the entire team, with 2 racers in 3 different classes. Saturday was a proud day for team racer, Paul Del Rosario, cruising to a World Championship on his Rius Racing built SHO. We had a minor issue when a fuse blew after our huge holeshotover the competition in the qualifier for Pro Runabout Open, after a quick fix we went on the to LCQ in which we took 3 more holeshotsafter some jump starting on the line, we went on to win the LCQ.

We were very happy going into Sundays’ events and unfortunately with LCQ placement on the line was rough. Off the line was rough with a less than favorable line placement, but Nicolas fought hard to come up to the 2ndposition. Rius was passing people right and left, taking advantage of the speed his craft had over the competition and powering through the rough waters like a man on a mission!

Unfortunately as luck may have it sometimes, on our way to staging for Moto 2 lady luck threw us a disappointment and gave us a blown head gasket, thus bringing our charge for the title to an end. It’s Racing! Sometimes you can do it all and luck with just get you, congrats to all the winners.

Thank you to our sponsors (Quakysense, JetTrim, Scott Anderson, LC Engineering, BP Concepts, WebCam, Motec, and Riva) and all the team , and family that helped us out. We are a powerful team of people built on a strong bond that work really hard and when the chips were down we didn’t give up, we tried to make it happen, just wasn’t enough time to do what we had to do! THANK YOU to everyone!

Rius Racing is preparing the take it once again to Thailand to defend our title from last year, keep showing your support for Nicolas “The Fighter” Rius!
